god is a dancer (accoustic) single artwork

client: tiësto

role: art director

discipline: single artwork

Overview:

I was approached by Tiësto’s team to create the artwork for the acoustic version of his hit single "God Is a Dancer" featuring Mabel. My responsibility was to refine Mabel’s visual representation, ensuring it matched the stripped-down, acoustic feel of the song while staying true to the energy of the original hit.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Art Direction: Through close collaboration with Tiësto’s creative team, I developed a visual direction that balanced the vibrant elements of the original single with the softer, deconstructed nature of the acoustic version. The challenge was to ensure that Mabel’s image felt cohesive with the new sound while maintaining visual continuity with her established identity.

  • Project & Stakeholder Management: I managed the entire creative process from concept through final artwork delivery. This included regular communication with Tiësto’s team, refining the design based on their feedback, and ensuring all creative aspects were aligned with the artist’s and label’s vision.

  • Artwork Production: The final design reflected the acoustic version’s aesthetic while preserving the core visual elements that resonated with fans of the original track. The artwork was optimized for use across both digital and physical platforms, ensuring consistency and impact wherever it was displayed.

Outcome:

The project was successfully completed with the client expressing satisfaction with how the artwork captured the acoustic version’s softer tone while maintaining the dynamic feel of the original release. The final design was well-received by both Tiësto’s team and Mabel’s audience, effectively bridging the gap between the two versions of the track.
