Overview:

For Mark Tuan's highly anticipated debut album, The Other Side, I was tasked with designing physical packaging that would reflect Mark’s artistic vision and resonate deeply with his dedicated fanbase. The challenge was to create a package that was not only visually distinctive but also tactilely engaging, offering fans a memorable experience with the physical product.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Art Direction: I crafted unique lock-ups for both the album title and Mark’s name, ensuring that each element had its own visual impact while maintaining overall design cohesion. The goal was to create a balance between striking visuals and a design that reflected the themes of the album.

  • Experimenting with Production Techniques: To elevate the packaging, I explored a range of ink and printing techniques, including glitter and spot printing. These techniques added depth, texture, and a tactile quality to the packaging, making the album sleeve a standout piece that enhanced the overall experience for fans.

  • Project & Stakeholder Management: I worked closely with Mark’s team to ensure that the designs aligned with his vision and that production timelines were met. Collaborating with the production teams, I ensured that all the intricate details of the packaging were executed to the highest standard.

  • Product Range & Production Techniques: The physical album packaging was the focus of this project, with attention to detail in the printing and material selection. By experimenting with various textures and finishes, the packaging became an integral part of the album’s identity.
